考研英语二大小作文对字数要求不同，小作文在100字左右。大作文在150字左右。虽然考研英语大纲对于英语一和英语二的字数规定不同，即英语一160到200词，英语二150词左右，但是在实际的阅卷操作中，两种试卷只要都不写超200字就可以了。不过其中值得注意的是，考研英语一如果刚刚写到160词的时候，给阅卷人的直观感受是你的字数有可能不够，所以尽量作文写到180词是最保险的方案了。

考研英语一和英语二最大的区别就是在作文和翻译上面英语一写作共30分，其中小作文10分，大作为20分;英语二写作共25分，其中小作文10分，大作为15分。推荐用《写作宝中宝》英语一的两篇作文，小作文是以写信为主，大作文以图画为主;英语二的大作文是以图表为主。其次是翻译，英语二的翻译分值为15分，英语一的分值为10分，英语一是一篇文章中选出五句话来分别翻译，而英语二是全篇翻译。，在英语一里面，它是阅读理解部分的PartC，出题形式是提供一篇约400词的文章(字数和难度与阅读理解PartA的文章相似)，在5个句子下面画线，要求学生将画线句子译成中文。而英语二的英译汉是单独的一个部分，翻译的内容不是画线句子，而是“一个或几个段落”。难度有些不同一般情况来说英语一要难于英语二，毕竟学硕在乎研究性，在研究的时候有一些文献全部都是外文的，所以自然对英语的要求也就较高，而专硕更偏于实用性，所以也就不会特别的难为你。两者主要从词汇量大小，语法掌握的宽度与深度等方面来区别难度。但是，近年来因为专硕的热度日渐提升，专业硕士入学考试竞争越发激烈，所以英语二的难度也呈上升趋势。
